I'm Daddy-Man!
I am the alter ego of Ivy Butler a father, whom in a moment of despair of not being able to distract his kids from watching Superman on television, decided to become their superhero. He created his own "superhero" suit and became me... "Daddy-Man!" I never would have thought the children would have taken my Daddy-Man status as seriously as they do. I have been asked to rescue cats from trees eventhough I am afraid of heights, and am always "slaying" creepy spiders...yuck! But there have also been those "special missions" like the time I saved a children's group home from closure and became a hero to some very special kids who now are lifelong friends.
When Ivy started this thing it was for his children, but when I realized the good that came out of it like helping other fathers find their inner superhero as well as become a positive role model to children I met along the way, I knew I had found my calling in life. With no "real" superpowers like flying, crawling up buildings or stopping a bullet with my bare hands, I discovered my power lies in honor, something all heroes should strive to have. I have my weaknesses though, "my kryptonite" and that is when kids are hurt, sick and need me, or when I meet a child that is searching for something to fill the void left by a father's absence. This sometimes places a child in difficult and sometimes dangerous situations where they need a hero. I have come to the realization that I can't be every place a child needs or wants me to be, so I call on my team of other Daddy-Men who share my mission and goal. These Daddy-Men may not have a suit like mine, but they have the same strengths that I do. Are you a Daddy-Man? Do you know a Daddy-Man? If so, then join me in "Creating Heroes 1 Daddy at a Time." This is my motto, mission and ultimate goal.
